Week 7: November 5–11, 2012

• Nationally, Broadcast took 85 of the top 100 Adult 25-54 Total Day programs in Week 7. There were 21 shows in the top 100 featuring coverage of the 2012 Elections. NBC’s Prime Coverage led the pack with a 4.8 RA25-54, coming in at number 15.
• The FOX National NFL Game featuring the Dallas Cowboys and Philadelphia Eagles led the rankings with a 10.1 RA25-54. NBC Sunday Night Football (9.0 RA25-54) and The Big Bang Theory (6.9 RA25-54) rounded out the top 3.
• Cable’s highest-rated show, NFL Regular Season on ESPN, was #9, while The Walking Dead ranked #14.
• Market of the Week: In the battleground state of Colorado, election coverage was a top draw in the market of Denver, as election coverage programming took 3 of the top 10 spots. CBS NFL Football, featuring the Denver Broncos, took the top spot with a 25.6 RA25-54.
• Program of the Week: NBC’s Prime Election coverage delivered a 4.8 RA25-54 nationally, while key local markets exceeded national delivery by as much as 96%. Each network coded its election coverage differently.
• Election Night 2012 saw viewers glued to their TV sets. Coverage on the major networks ran throughout the night, and, in the end, the winner was Broadcast Television. 59% of Adults 25-54 were watching coverage on the broadcast networks between 8P and 2A, while 41% were watching the cable network coverage.
