TV Basics: Local Online Advertising
Local online advertising has enjoyed double-digit growth since it first became trackable in 1998. Ad revenue is expected to grow 31.6 percent in 2007, driven mainly by targeted applications such as local paid search and email. Without paid search and email, 2007 growth would be an estimated 18 percent.
Growth is expected to slow as the category approaches $10 billion and moderate- to single-digit growth by the end of the decade.
