TVB Online is divided into ten main areas, each accessible at all times from the navigation menu on the left side. Some sections and documents throughout the site are accessible to TVB Members only and some are of special interest to Advertisers. Both are prominently marked as such. The site is constantly evolving as we strive to continue to be an invaluable resource to our Members and the advertising community. Check back often for new sections, research documents, and industry information. About TVB TVB Members can find out about other members in the TVB Member Directory and the Bureau's activities in the President's Monthly Report. Accessible to everyone is a listing of TVB's Board and committee members in the TVB Board & Committees Directory as well as a listing of staff members with e-mail links in the Staff Directory. All About Multiplatform TVB Online's “All About Multiplatform” area is an important part of TVB's initiative to provide new media resources to TVB members, promote local broadcast TV's multiplatform offerings to advertisers and the industry press, and educate/advocate for increased customer participation in multiplatform opportunities. Users can drill down into one of three subsections (Internet, Mobile and Digital-TV), each with a unique navigation and set of documents. Research Central This area is your one-stop source for relevant and timely audience analyses throughout the broadcast season as well as ad revenue breakdowns and other important data about the advertising business. Almost every document in Research Central is available for viewing by everyone. You can access the latest broadcast, cable and syndication ratings comparisons, and learn more about noteworthy consumer and viewer trends. TVB’s ever-popular “Trends” documents, our on-line versions of “TV Basics” and the “Media Comparisons Study,” as well as Advertising Revenue and Forecast data can also be accessed in Research Central. Selling Smarter Most documents here are for the use of TVB Members only. This section, redesigned in November 2005, now is divided into five subsections. Here you will find dozens of category-specific files (Category Files subsection), full PowerPoint presentations (Presentation Modules subsection), and a wide variety of other information that will help station executives sell local broadcast television. The new Competitive Landscape subsection is organized to help you easily garner the arguments against a specific competitive medium. The Sales Toolbox subsection provides tools for positioning Spot TV positively. And the Sales Reports subsection is full of intelligence on business prospects, including excerpts from the current spots-n-dots and Television Business Report newsletters. Advertiser/Agency Resource Channel This area provides information to help advertisers make the best use of local television. Advertisers can receive a free password to use the Channel by clicking here. (TVB members may use their existing password.) Business Databank This section was designed to give television broadcasters the most up-to-date and relevant data to help in short- and long-term business planning. It should prove especially valuable to chief financial officers and business managers. Among the features are Media Expenditure Reports, Automotive Industry Data, Television Ad Spending Forecasts, and Leading Economic Indicators. E-Business Local broadcast television is already an advertiser's most effective and best media choice for geographic targeting. Now, through E-Business, local TV can also become an advertiser's easiest to execute and most customer-friendly media choice. TVB has developed this E-Business Toolbox to aid broadcasters in becoming more familiar with the concept, technology, system providers, and benefits of E-Business. Check the website frequently for the newest additions. Presentation and VOD Library TVB Online has grown quite large, and PowerPoint and VOD is scattered throughout the site under various appropriate headings. To further ease your navigation of TVB Online, we have catalogued all presentations and video in one spot in this Presentation and VOD Library. Events And Conferences Both information on TVB's important upcoming conferences and highlights of past events are available. Job Center Find here research, marketing, and sales positions from TVB members across the country. Search Need to find some information on the number of television households or current thinking on recency planning, but not sure where to find it? The search graphic in the upper right corner is accessible from every page. You can search the entire site or limit your search to any of seven areas. Enter a keyword and results are returned with icons designating different areas of the site and whether the document is Members Only or of interest to Advertisers. |
