Here Are Retail Trends, Priorities for 2021
According to a report from Retail Insight the pandemic will have long-term impacts on the retail sector through to 2025. The report expects a boost of convenience retail, with a strong consumer appetite for health products and high in-store safety expectations.

Mortgage Rates Set 14th Record Low of the Year, Driving Even More Refinance Demand
Mortgage rates fell again to a record low for the 14th time this year. In turn mortgage applications to refinance rose 2% last week from the previous week, and 89% higher from a year ago, according to the Mortgage Bankers Association.

There Aren’t Enough New Cars
Ally Financial, the largest U.S. auto lender, said there’s enough consumer demand for manufacturers to ramp-up output of new models but not enough supply.

Late Auto Loans, Lease Payments Down in Q3
Q3 auto loans and leases show a drop in delinquencies compared with a year ago, according to Experian Automotive, at least in part to consumers who took advantage of available “accommodation” programs such as deferring payments during the first wave of coronavirus shutdowns.

A super PAC affiliated with Mitch McConnell is overseeing a new political action committee that emerged in recent days to shape the US Senate runoffs in Georgia. The group will spend $43 million in new TV and radio ad spending.

Comcast’s Peacock direct-to-consumer service has had 26 million people sign up, up from 20 to 21 million at the end of the third quarter, according to Jeff Shell, CEO of NBCUniversal.

According to CarGurus Sentiment Study, auto consumers perceive vehicles as costing more versus last spring’s consumers. Today’s shoppers also see vehicle selection as leaner.
