Montgomery is the capital of the U.S. state of Alabama and is the county seat of Montgomery County. Montgomery is the location of operations for companies such as Hyundai Motor Manufacturing Alabama, LLC, GKN Aerospace, Koch Foods, Rheem Water Heaters, and Mobis Alabama, LLC. As the capital of Alabama and home of the Maxwell-Gunter Air Force Base, government is the largest employment sector in the Montgomery area. Trade, transportation, and utilities is the second largest sector. Given its central location in the southeast, Montgomery is firmly established as a regional wholesale trade and distribution center.
