Over-The-Air Broadcast Television (OTA)

National trends show that the number of Wired Cable, DBS, and vMVPD households declined in May 2026 compared to May 2025. Cable (21%) and DBS (8.5%) both see 14% decrease, while vMVPD (16%) drops 6%. Broadcast Only or OTA households (18.7%), however, is up 20% compared to the same time period. When looking at individual markets, there are examples that far surpass the national Broadcast Only penetration, like Albuquerque-Santa Fe (32.6%) and Houston (30.2%).
